A proper community, we should remember also, is a commonwealth: a place, a resource, an economy. It answers the needs, practical as well as social and spiritual, of its members – among them the need to need one another.WENDELL BERRY
‘Community’ -a group of people living in the same place, a feeling of fellowship with others, a sense of shared goals, a sense of being supported. In a nutshell, this is what we strive for in a quality Montessori environment: That the children will feel that their classroom is their own, a true ‘Children’s House’, where they are each supported in their activities throughout the day.
The Montessori classroom is a wonderful place to visit! It is impossible to capture in words the energy, joy, compassion, and purpose exuded through the day. This is part of why we require that interested parents come spend an hour just watching.
Through shared work, responsibility, enjoyment and success, this group of children of varying ages finds cohesion. They truly love and support each other, and are invested in each others success.
We invite you: Come sit a while. Watch our beautiful community in action!
“It is our task, our essential, central, crucial task, to transform ourselves from mere social creatures into community creatures.” M.SCOTT PECK
